Going vegetarian for at least 17 years extends a person’s life expectancy by 3.6 years, a study has shown. The Mayo Clinic in Arizona analysed six studies that showed the effects of diet. Their investigation of more than 1.5 million people found death from all causes was higher for those who regularly eat meat, with red and processed meat the worst offenders.
