Raspberries contain very high levels of Vitamin C, a key nutrient in male fertility, and magnesium, which is involved in the production of testosterone. They also contain high levels of antioxidants, which help protect sperm from oxidative stress. These antioxidants could also decrease the risk of having a miscarriage.

Scientists have warned that a diet packed with copper-rich foods – from
red meat to shellfish – could trigger Alzheimer’s. New research reveals the metal is a key factor in the development of dementia. It can prevent toxic proteins clearing in the brain and speed up their accumulation. Researcher Dr Rashid Deane said: “It is clear that these effects are due to exposure over a long period. The key will be striking the right balance between too little and too much copper consumption.”

A study found that black tea combats two types of bacteria – Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus – that are both associated with tooth decay. 3 cups a day was found to be sufficient to reduce levels of these harmful bacteria.

Tryptophan is a naturally occurring amino acid which helps to boost your body’s production of serotonin. This is a chemical which promotes feelings of wellbeing and helps you relax and drop off to sleep. It has been discovered that pumpkin seeds are high in tryptophan, so could help you get to sleep without the use of prescription drugs.
However, in order for the tryptophan to be absorbed into your body, pumpkin seeds must be eaten with a carbohydrate such as cereal, bread or pasta.

THE CAUSE OF psoriasis is not well understood, but it is known that your immune system plays a large part. If you have psoriasis, your T-cells (which are found the cells found in your blood and are part of your body's natural defence) attack your healthy skin cells by mistake. The cycle of skin cell production becomes quicker and quicker. Skin cells are created and then die in the space of five to six days, instead of the normal 28 days. The dead skin cells build...

DON’T LET ANYONE tell you going bald can be. The condition male strong enough to either begin to that losing your hair is just a part of growing older. Or that it doesn’t matter and you can’t do anything about it because it’s all down to your genes.
How many times have you heard ‘if anyone’s bald in your family you’ve got no chance of keeping your hair!’ That’s partially true, male pattern baldness can be hereditary and ageing also has an effect on your once ‘thick thatch’. But unless someone has experienced the feeling of disappointment and inadequacy caused by...

A plant extract used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years, could hold the key to a longer life for all of us...

IT IS IN CHINA, in the inhospitable Takla-Makan desert, that the discovery was made of a plant that has featured in the Chinese pharmacopeia for more than 1,800 years. As rare as it is powerful, it is part of the daily diet of a population with one of the longest life expectancies, despite the harsh climate.
In this region the percentage of centenarians is the highest in the world. The source of this longevity has been pinpointed to...
