A complete protein and fantastic wheat-free alternative, the demand for quinoa has risen sharply in recent years. Here are some reasons why it benefits your health.
Quinoa is high in antiinflammatory phytonutrients, which make it potentially beneficial for human health in the prevention and treatment of disease. Quinoa contains small amounts of the heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids and, in comparison to common cereal grasses has a higher content of monounsaturated fat.
As a complete protein, quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids – including the elusive lysine and isoleucine acids, which most other grains lack. Naturally high in dietary fibre, quinoa is a slowly digested carbohydrate, making it a good low-GI option.

A daily dose of aspirin can double the life expectancy of patients with cancers affecting the gastrointestinal tract, according to a study. Study of 14,000 people with cancer in gastrointestinal tract finds regular users of drug twice as likely to be alive after four years.
It was already known that that frequent use of aspirin can prevent bowel cancer, but the most recent study also suggests that men and women with a range of cancers who take the anti-inflammatory painkiller experience a significant survival benefit compared with those who do not.

It’s long been associated with good health, reducing the risk of heart disease and some cancers, and now the Mediterranean diet has been linked to staving off depression.
A new Spanish study involving more than 15,000 people has found a diet loaded with fruit, vegetables, fish, beans, nuts and olive oil, but with low levels of processed meats, could help keep depression at bay.

Maintaining your prostate health can reduce the risk of prostate enlargement.
Research has shown that certain natural extracts can be incredibly effective at treating and even reducing an enlarged prostate.
Saw Palmetto
Saw Palmetto (Serenoa Serrulata) counters the loss of testosterone which allows other hormones to enlarge the size of the prostate.
Beta Sitosterol
Beta Sitosterol has been shown not only to be highly effective at treating prostate problems, but also helps reduce cholesterol.
Lycopene
Lycopene occurs naturally in tomatoes, giving them their red colouring. A four year study carried out at Harvard Medical School showed that Lycopene has a direct effect in preventing prostate problems.
Bee Pollen
Bee Pollen is used widely in Scandinavia, and is widely considered to provide beneficial relief from enlarged prostate symptoms.

DON’T LET ANYONE tell you that losing your hair is just another part of growing older. How many times have you heard ‘if anyone’s bald in your family you’ve got no chance of keeping your hair!’ The good news is you can do something about it.
Scientists have found that baldness is caused by a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. This hormone shrinks your hair follicles so they are no longer able to produce hair strong enough to either begin to grow or remain in your scalp for any length of time.
A breakthrough formula called Minoxamax® has been pioneered which can actually switch off the receptors on the hair follicle, so DHT has no effect on...
