Researchers are investigating whether a simple eye test could be used to identify the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. A three-year £1.1 million project will look at whether warning signs can be detected using special computer software to analyse high-definition images of the eye.

The complex neural circuitry responsible for our sense of smell is the only part of the nervous system that regenerates throughout adult life.
It is this ability that scientists have tried to exploit in stimulating repair in the spinal cord. Every time we breathe, molecules carrying different odours in the air come into contact with nerve cells in the nose. Regeneration is made possible by olfactory ensheathing cells.

A paralysed man has been able to walk again after a pioneering therapy that involved transplanting cells from his nasal cavity into his spinal cord. Darek Fidyka,
who was paralysed from the chest down in a knife attack in 2010, can now walk using a frame. The treatment, a world first, was carried out by surgeons in Poland in collaboration with scientists in London. Details of the research are published in the journal Cell Transplantation. Darek Fidyka, 40, from Poland, was paralysed after being stabbed repeatedly in the back in the 2010 attack.

Fruit juice should be removed from the recommended list of healthy things to eat daily because it is confusing for parents, say campaigners. ‘Action on Sugar’ found many children's juices contain at least six teaspoons of sugar - more
than cola - and come in cartons larger than recommended. Official advice currently says a 150ml glass of unsweetened fruit juice counts towards your five a day. A smoothie containing all the edible pulped fruit or vegetable may count as more than one five-a-day portion, but this depends on the quantity of fruits or vegetables or juice used, as well as how...

People might just tell you it’s to be expected as you get older, but how would you like to get back the mental agility you had 10 or even 20 years ago? Well now you can do just that...

The most common complaint people over the age of 35 report is short-term memory loss. Many factors conspire to rob us of mental acuity as we age. But scientists have discovered natural agents with the potential to slow or even reverse this once-inevitable decline.
The first is Ginkgo Biloba which helps to aid circulation of blood to the brain to keep your grey...

If you are looking for a quick, sure – and above all – effective way to get a powerful, firm erection, then Erexin® is the answer. Thousands of people around the world have successfully used it and for those who do use it, it is has become indispensable.

There is no delay in getting erection. Spray a little Erexin® on the penis and immediately it will get hard, even if an erection hasn’t been enjoyed for
a long time. The majority of sexual enhancers on the market today are ineffective and even dangerous to one’s health. Even if they do work, having...

JOINT PAIN AND arthritis affects over 2 million people in the UK alone – if you’re one of them, new research has revealed a breakthrough treatment.

If you suffer with Osteoarthritis, your cartilage (this is the soft tissue which protects the surface of your bones inside your joints from everyday damage) begins to break down.
The effects include your cartilage becoming fragile and easily damaged and the bone inside your joints thickening, reducing your mobility. Unsightly lumps can start to form around the edges of your joints, causing discomfort and the fluid inside your joints thickens, reducing flexibility.
In severe cases, part of...

ARE YOU A BIT worried that the season of indulgence has left a heavy mark on you? It’s hard to find the time to exercise and what’s worse, everyone around you seems to be able to eat whatever they like and not put on a pound! Don’t worry, the fight to lose weight and win could be entirely hindered by a high but very passable wall.

Your thyroid gland could be holding you back!
It’s demoralising and unfair, but don’t despair – it might not be your fault! You could have an underactive thyroid gland. Do you often feel like you have...
