Scientists in India have developed a new test to spot 14 different conditions. It is aimed at those people who live in remote areas and don't have regular access to a doctor. A healthy tongue should be pink, clean and covered in papillae, which contain taste buds.
But inflamed, red, black or white tongues could...

Scientists based in San Francisco are working on a substance called Vasalgel -
an injectable 'barrier' that seals the small tube that carries sperm, called the vas deferens. The science behind the gel has been tested in India for 20 years in the form of a polymer contraceptive called Risug, which is in advanced clinical trials. The gel could mean that vasectomy’s may no longer be needed which can have complications and side effects, such as pain, infection and bleeding.

German doctors are hoping to shed new light on the treatment of chronic pain. Prof Thomas Tolle, a pain specialist in Munich, is beginning a trial using specially designed overhead lighting, which imitates the blue light of a summer sky.
Chronic pain is a huge problem worldwide, with over 14 million sufferers in the UK alone, according to the Chronic Pain Policy Coalition (CPPC). Chronic pain defined as pain that persists beyond the normal time for healing, or that occurs in diseases such as fibromyalgia.

One in five UK men would turn a blind eye to prostate problems, according to a recent survey. 20% admitted that if they experienced symptoms like needing to pee more frequently or urgently, feeling that they’re unable to fully empty their bladder, or difficulty urinating, they would “just ignore it”.

DOES THE PROSPECT of getting ready for the summer months and swimwear fill you with fear? Tried dieting, but it just left you hungry, lacking energy and feeling rubbish?
It’s hard to find the time to exercise and what’s worse, everyone around you seems to be able to eat whatever they like and not put on a pound!

Your thyroid gland could be holding you back!
It’s demoralising and unfair, but don’t despair – it might not be your fault! You could have an underactive thyroid gland. Do you often feel like you have no energy or enthusiasm? Or do you feel moody...

Maybe you started having the odd restless night, but the more you worried about it the less you sleep? You could even have found your health suffering, as lack of sleep lowers your immune system, making you more prone to infection –it can even lead to depression.
You are not alone – lack of...

HAIR LOSS AFFECTS thousands of people in the UK and until now there was very little you could do to prevent it.

How many times have you heard ‘if anyone’s bald in your family you’ve got no chance of keeping your hair!’ The good news is you can now do something about it.
Scientists have found that baldness is caused a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. This hormone shrinks your hair follicles so they are no longer able to produce hair strong enough to either begin to grow or remain in your scalp for any length of time.
